Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are established for the purpose of stipulating the rights and obligations, responsibilities, conditions and procedures of use, and other necessary matters between Chon Co., Ltd. (hereinafter the "Company") and users (including members) in connection with the use of the Chon service (hereinafter the "Service") provided by the Company.
Article 2 (Definitions)
The definitions of terms used in these Terms and Conditions are as follows.

① Service: Refers to the Chon app/web and all related services provided by the company.

② User: Refers to a person who accesses the Service and uses the Service provided by the Company in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

③ Member: Refers to a person who agrees to these Terms and Conditions, creates an account, and uses the Service.

④ Account: Refers to the login method (email/mobile phone number/social login, etc.) set by the member for member identification and service usage, and information associated therewith.

⑤ Content: Refers to text, images, documents (including PDFs), links, data (including family trees/relationship diagrams/profile information), and other information that a member posts, registers, uploads, or transmits within the service.

⑥ Mutual Authentication: Refers to an authentication procedure or function provided by the service to verify and connect specific relationships (family/friends/organizations, etc.) between members.

⑦ Paid Services: Refers to subscriptions, usage rights, additional features, etc. provided by the Company for a fee (only where applicable).
Article 3 (Effect and Application of Terms)

① These Terms shall become effective when posted on the Service screen (initial screen or linked screen) or announced by other means, and the Member agrees thereto.

② The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that it does not violate relevant laws and regulations.

③ Matters not specified in these Terms and their interpretation shall be governed by relevant laws and regulations, the Company's separately established operating policies/guidelines, and general commercial practices.
Article 4 (Amendment and Notice of Terms)

① When the Company amends the Terms, it shall give notice within the Service specifying the effective date, details of the amendment, and reasons for the amendment.

② In the case of material changes or changes disadvantageous to users, the Company shall give notice with a reasonable advance period (at least 30 days) and shall provide individual notification where necessary.

③ A Member who does not agree to the amended Terms may terminate the service agreement (withdraw membership) before the amended Terms take effect.
Article 5 (Membership Registration and Account Management)

① Membership registration is established when a user agrees to the Terms and completes the procedures set by the Company (account creation, identity verification, etc.).

② Members must keep their account information up to date, and shall be responsible for any disadvantages arising from providing false information or using another person's information without authorization.

③ Members are responsible for managing their account and password (or authentication method), and must immediately notify the Company if unauthorized use by a third party is suspected.
Article 6 (Use by Minors)

① Membership registration and personal information procedures for children under the age of 14 shall be governed by relevant laws and regulations, including consent from a legal guardian (registration may be restricted depending on Service policy).

② The Company may request age verification or consent from a legal guardian, where necessary.
Article 7 (Provision and Change of Services)

① The Company may provide the following services:

Connection and management of mutually authenticated relationships (family/friends/organizations, etc.)

Creation, viewing, and sharing of family trees/relationship diagrams
-
Configuration and display of profiles/IDs (identity/network information)
-
Upload and organization of documents/images (including PDFs)
-
AI-based search, summarization, Q&A, and other supplementary features (where applicable)

② The Company may change or discontinue all or part of the Service, and shall provide prior notice in the event of a material change or discontinuation.

③ The Company may carry out maintenance as operationally or technically necessary, and shall announce the maintenance schedule on the Service screen.
Article 8 (Mutual Recognition and Special Provisions for Related Data)

① Mutual Verification is a feature intended to assist in confirming relationships between Members, and the Company does not guarantee the legal validity or truthfulness of the actual relationships between Members.

② Members must not input or post sensitive information about another person (e.g., resident registration number, etc.) without that person's consent.

③ Relationship data (family trees/relationship diagrams) is generated based on Members' input and interactions, and disputes arising therefrom shall, in principle, be resolved between the parties concerned. The Company shall have no obligation to intervene, except in cases where its liability is recognized under relevant laws and regulations.
Article 9 (Rights and License of Content)

① Rights to Content shall, in principle, belong to the Member who created and registered it.

② Members grant the Company a non-exclusive license to store, reproduce, transmit, convert (e.g., format conversion/search indexing), and display such Content to the extent necessary for the Company to operate, provide, and improve the Service.

③ Members warrant that they hold legitimate rights to, or have obtained authorization to use, any documents, images, text, etc. that they upload.

④ If the Company intends to utilize Content for purposes such as improving AI functions, it shall follow separate notice/consent procedures as required by relevant laws and regulations (where necessary).
Article 10 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in any of the following acts:

Unauthorized use or theft of another person's account, identity theft, or impersonation

Posting illegal information, infringing copyright, or engaging in obscene material/illegally filmed content-related activities

Causing excessive load on the Service or servers, or compromising security

Unauthorized collection/scraping/crawling through automated means (except to the extent permitted by the Company)

Infringing on another person's rights (portrait rights, personal information, reputation, etc.)
-
Any other act that violates laws and regulations or good morals and social order
Article 11 (Restriction of Use and Termination of Agreement)

① If a Member violates these Terms or the Company's operating policies, the Company may take measures such as warnings, deletion/private setting of Content, restriction of features, suspension of use, or permanent suspension of use (account termination), depending on the severity of the violation.

② Members may terminate the service agreement (withdraw membership) at any time through the procedures within the Service.

③ Even after restriction of use or termination, certain information may be retained for a specified period in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and the Company's retention policy, with specific details governed by the Privacy Policy.
Article 12 (Paid Service and Payment)

① The details, fees, payment methods, provision period, and refund standards of Paid Services shall be governed by separate notices (Service screen/payment page/refund policy).

② The automatic renewal, cancellation, and refund conditions for subscription-based services may be subject to both the payment method/store policies (e.g., app marketplace) and the Company's policies.
Article 13 (Exemption from Liability and Limitation of Liability)

① The Company shall not be liable in cases where it is unable to provide the Service due to force majeure, such as natural disasters, war, power outages, network failures, or third-party service failures.

② The Company shall not be liable for disputes between users, the accuracy of information entered by users, the reliability of Mutual Verification results, or the legality of Content, except in cases where its liability is recognized under relevant laws and regulations.

③ Where AI features are provided, the output of the AI is for reference purposes only (and may contain errors), and final judgment and responsibility rest with the user.
Article 14 (Notice)

① The Company may give notice through reasonable means such as the email address/mobile phone number registered by the Member, app push notifications, or in-Service notifications.

② If a Member fails to receive a notice because they did not keep their contact information up to date, any resulting disadvantage shall be borne by the Member.
Article 15 (Protection of Personal Information)

① Matters concerning the processing of personal information (collection, use, provision, entrustment, destruction, etc.) shall be governed by the Privacy Policy and related consent procedures. These Terms alone do not substitute for consent to the processing of personal information.
Article 16 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

① These Terms shall be interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.

② In the event a dispute arises in connection with the use of the Service, the parties shall first seek to resolve it through mutual consultation, and if such consultation fails, the Seoul Central District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction (or the court of competent jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act).
Addendum

① These Terms shall take effect on July 7, 2026.

② These Terms shall also apply to Members who registered prior to the effective date of these Terms (provided, however, that exceptions shall apply where restricted by relevant laws and regulations).
